They are much cheaper than regular hotels the longer you stay. These types of rooms also have a small kitchenette with Fridge/Microwave that will save you money without eating at restaurants.Hostels (Not Hotels) are a popular way for students, backpackers, solo travelers and more to save tons of money by staying in a dormitory type room. There are bunk beds and a shared multi shared bathrooms, and a kitchen in the main area. Rates range from $15 and up per night. An awesome value if you’re up for the experience.Traveling Internationally usually means different electricity voltage. Basically your flat iron or cell phone charger needs a plug adapter in order to work. You can get Travel Adapter Plugs at Amazon or Ebay. They’re found easily in big cities or at International Airports, trust me it’s cheaper on Amazon.Extra Discounts If you are an Auto Club Member, Senior Citizen, or Youth (usually under 25) you get better rates for hotels, airline travel etc. Also invest in a book such as the Entertainment Book which has saved me lots of money for my domestic travel trips. Traveling with heavy luggage is not only a drag, but can cost you substantially at the airport check in counter.Use a Backpack A backpack is extremely comfortable compared to purses hanging off your shoulder, it leaves your hands and arms free to carry maps, drinks etc. It also gives you room to put your souvenirs away snugly instead of carrying bags all day.Travel during off season, you will get the best rates and less crowds. Different destinations have different off seasons. Basically the opposite of when you think is the best time to go.
